The threat is still alive and well in Israel. If we listen to Al Jazeera and the mainstream media outlets, violent settlers were besieging a house, preventing women and children from obtaining food.
We need to keep in mind the wider context. The Arabs and Israelis are both racing to create facts on the ground to secure the land. Both sides feel that it is less likely to be given to the other if there are people living there.
According to local Jewish sources and the Israel Guys, who live around the corner on Mt Blessing, this was a house built by a wealthy Palestinian American outside of the Arab settlement of Qusra, and both the house and the town have been frequently used to launch attacks against the Jews from.
The Jews, as they frequently do, tried to start a settlement close by. They feel that the Zionist response to attacks should be more settlement. This attempt to start an outpost amounted to a handful of teens with a bit of tarp and later a couch.
This attempt was unremarkable except for the fact that it was in area B, and pretty much in the yard of the house. The IDF had repeatedly removed it; this was just the latest iteration. For the Arab’s part, this seems like a try at some new language to try to foster some international sympathy.
God Gave These Mountains to Israel
It is God’s land and he has declared that he is giving it to his people Israel.
“8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.” Ezekiel 36:8
It feels like people know this, and that fact is providing extra incentive to try to stop Israel from living there.
We were warned ahead of time that people would lie about it and claim it as their own; it says that it would be “taken up in the lips of talkers…” and be an infamy (defamation) of the people. It has indeed been leveraged to defame the people of Israel. This is how it reads:
“3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy (defamation) of the people . . . 5 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey . . . 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.” Ezekiel 36:3, 5, 7
Notice that God says “Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea…” The fire of his jealousy is strong language for the anger this makes God feel. Also note that it goes on: “the heathen that are about you (encircle you), they shall bear their shame” - this doesn’t end well for the nations. God has given this land to Israel, and it will become the nucleus of his kingdom.
The Times of Israel has reported that US officials are going to tour the town themselves. This suggests to me that they don't trust the reports they are hearing and want to see it for themselves.
The Tide of Judgement to be Turned
The intolerable situation that Israel has been in is to change. There have been decades of attacks. They started large and existential in the early days before the state and in the early years of Israel’s existence. Today, the tide is turning. The will to ethnically cleanse Israel of Jews is still there, but these regional enemies are being weakened by Israel, and the threat is diminishing. We are told that the day will come in which it will be gone.
Ezekiel 28:24, AV
“24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.”
There are additional verses that indicate that God's judgement will be turned on the nations that are against Israel, for example:
Zechariah 2:6-9, AV
“6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. 7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. 8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. 9 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.”
Migration into the EU
Turning to Europe, we have watched millennia of antisemitism, the holocaust, decades of backing for anti-Jewish and anti-Israel attacks in the holy land, but we’re not the only ones that have seen it. God is taking notice and the tide will turn.
Recently, about 70,000 migrants entered Spain in a very short period of time. Most of them were sent back, but this latest crisis highlights an ongoing trend that has spanned over a decade.
We have been seeing in the last decade a mass of majority muslim immigration into Europe. Migration was a significant component in the fall of the Roman Empire, and it is no less of a force today, even if many don’t understand the danger. People are starting to wake up, but this is creating friction between EU members. Right-wing nationalist parties are gaining strength, replacing Europe’s left-wing, secular governments that we have been used to. The influx of muslims is strengthening anti-Israel and antisemitic sentiment and policy. These right-wing parties are often more sympathetic to Russia.
We are also seeing a rise in Jihadist attacks in Europe. At first many were related to ISIS, but even now that has mostly passed, attacks are still alarmingly common. At one time, these sorts of attacks that Israel suffered were all but unheard of in the Western world. That is no longer the case.
The day is coming when it will be safer to be in Israel than it will be in Europe and much of the world.
